    T5 multivan auto door jammed

Hi guys my drivers side auto side door will only partly open both in auto or manual mode. I have looked for info and not been able to find much in fact very little. it appears that it is is a motor pulling wires to open and close and one has jammed.

I am assuming that the panel covering the rail needs to be removed to access the drive. If anyone has info on how I should approach this problem your assistance and advice would be greatly appreciated. I have a fairly good mechanical aptitude and have worked on cars before.

    Regards,

    Fletch

fletchog, one thing you might want to try is when the door is opened as far as it will go, but it's not fully opened, push the door the rest of the way to the fully opened position.
Then close it normally and open it again and see if it now opens fully.
I've found things can get a little out of whack, and extending it to it's fully opened position seems to reset it's limits again.

I've been in the same position with our Multivan doors. As Cousin says it's a matter of getting it back into sync, so gently push open or close and then try again. I took ours to the car was one time, and I think the cleaners didn't know it was motorised, so wrenched the door open. Result was a $1000+ repair bill to replace the mechanism - so beware, and don't break it.
Every now and again the same door gets out of whack, and requires gentle persuasion.

Thanks guys, it only opens about 300mm and then stops, whether auto or manual, I dont want to force it as i think it is only the wire that has fallen of a pulley wheel or something similar that is jamming the door part way through opening.

Has anyone removed the mechanism cover panel? Would be interested if anyone can shed any light on how it actually works?

Luckily, I guess it is the drivers side so does not affect me a great deal as passengers can enter exit on the footpath side.
