I have an 06 mid roof t5 and im considering converting it to a regular low roof. Does anybody know if this is possible, and if there would be any point in trying to sell my old fiberglass roof?
Yeah I thought that might be the case, I sourced a roof for $1300 for which i was willing to pay. Problem with changing is mine is an ex ambo and I dont think id find one with the same spec, I like having the six airbags, reversing sensors, fogs etc etc. Oh well, will just have to see if somebody can make me a roof bar system that can carry some weight!
Hey Sparky,
I have been carrrying three ladders and various conduit lengths on my ex ambo roof, which I fitted with a tradesman roof rack, on bolt on rails in January.
Have had up to 35x6mt lengths of 150mm conduit on there and took it up a goat track which really tested the 4 Motion system, no worries so far, the roof is still looking in perfect condition, ie no fracture/craze marks on the 'glass, no movement of the roof, and has been tested up to 160Km/h (no ladders!).
So for general duties for a tradie seems to be OK, unless you wanted to carry anything way heavy.

Cheers for the info tron,
Problem for me is i work as a floor layer so ideally i would be carrying carpets up there, so were talking quite a bit of weight. Think i will have to get a custom system made that transfers the weight straight to the floor of the van.
I envy your 4motion! wish mine had it! its not too bad in the dry but in the wet im getting wheel spin in third!
