    T5 Life span

What is the average mileage/ kilometres people are getting out of the 2,8 turbo diesels before they require a rebuild?
I love mine but as it is leased we are wondering whether to upgrade or just keep it and run it for as long as it lives

Interesting question. Mine's 3.5 years old now, and I have just had to replace tyres (after 45,000K's) and replace the water pump ($800). I also wonder about the longevity. However, I am heartened by comments on the UK site:

Given the number of T5's and the amount of time they have been on the market over there in the UK, the number of comments about faults is quite low.
Mine is also leased - but I did it with nil residual over 5 years so we could keep it after the lease runs out, so we could go traveling (grey nomad stuff), but the financial melt down has put paid to retirement for a few more years.

    Thanks for the reply Shogun
We love ours and are setting it up for the same tasks
Had to ask the question as we are diesel 4wd owners as well and are used to getting 450 to 500 thousand kilometres before the vehicle gets realy tired

I have wondered the same question. I guess if you keep up the maintenance and dont drive it hard it should last a while.
