Interesting question. Mine's 3.5 years old now, and I have just had to replace tyres (after 45,000K's) and replace the water pump ($800). I also wonder about the longevity. However, I am heartened by comments on the UK site:

Given the number of T5's and the amount of time they have been on the market over there in the UK, the number of comments about faults is quite low.
Mine is also leased - but I did it with nil residual over 5 years so we could keep it after the lease runs out, so we could go traveling (grey nomad stuff), but the financial melt down has put paid to retirement for a few more years.
