T5 interior light options

Sorry if I've missed it being discussed before...but can't find it (although I have found the led high beam light bar info thanks very much).

I've got my T5 LWB fitted out for work with a desk and seat and racks for my parts. I also have a 240v inverter connected to 2 battery's located under each of the front seats. I haven't changed the interior lighting at all. Have read here about the ebay led bulb alternatives...but not sure I am happy with them being on most of the time. Basically what I do now is use an led head lamp.

Was looking for a starting point for installing some interior lighting. I had thought led's would be best? I thought I would leave the standard lighting be? Should I have a 12 volt or 240 volt system? Thought 240v would be best as I don't have the 2 under seat batteries backing up the main vehicle battery. And I just plug them into the power board coming off my inverter. Rather than trying to wire them into the fusebox.

Appreciate any input from anyone who has a better idea. I am a little surprised at just how little idea I have about this, which probably is really not difficult.

It has an own on/off switch for ease of use, uses very little power and gives out a clear, uniform light.

I have one in my campervan, connected to an auxillary battery, and I couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks very much for that. I see there are smaller sizes too. A 20 and 9 LED version. Could the 30 LED be too large for just lighting the area over my desk?

And I currently only access my auxiliary batteries under the front seats through the inverter so it's all 240v by then. I paid someone to put the setup in, charged from the main battery. I see the auxiliary batteries just have screw in terminals where the existing positive and negative cables connect with round clips. If I just connect the light directly to there am I likely to cause any problems (sorry about my ignorance).

I would go the 30 LED as it gives a good uniform light without being too bright and as I said earlier, uses very little power (you can have it on for 5 hours and only use 1 AH).

If you only want minimal lighting I try these 24 LED Round Magnetic Work Light With Integral Hook | eBay which I have positioned around the van on anything metallic. They run on 3 AAA batteries and seem to last forever!

And yes the LED can be directly attached to the terminals of your aux battery but for safety add an inline fuse on the positive lead, close to the positive terminal.

I've already ordered a couple of these and will start with that to see what LED's are like.

I looked at something similar in a shop today, and they have 3 wires leading off, which they told me to connect to the existing interior light wires, and were not sure what I should do about connecting to my auxiliary battery. They are also not long enough to reach under the drivers seat. As you can tell, I am quiet electronicsly challenged, so maybe when I have got my light I will just head down to jaycar and get that fuse and some wire and they can fill in the gaps for me.
