No VW MF Steering wheel has gearshift buttons .... the few models that allow gearshift changes from the wheel all have paddles behind the wheel spokes.
T5 DSGs with MF steering wheel do not have the paddles. It is not even an option. It may be possible to retrofit though as somebody in a Tiguan (and the same DSG as the T5) has done exactly that. Required recoding using VCDS (Vagcom), but worked fine. MF Steering wheels with paddles can be found on eBay internationally for about $600.
I have looked at it and it is something I'd like to do in the future as I find the manual mode on the gear lever to be stupid and clumsy. Have to use manual mode often as the stupid attempted engine braking of the DSG on a downhill always results in a shift to 3rd jumping the revs to well over 3500rmin when staying in 5th would have been fine, thus requiring a flick into manual mode to force it to stay in 5th.
And here is the link to the Tiguan paddle retrofit: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...uan-56968.html
