2011 T5 DSG dropping gear? WTF HELP?

Just to give a little background....

about a week ago while driving i heard a pretty loud clunk during a gear shift (DSG in D mode) but thought nothing of it figuring perhaps it was just a stick or something, but loud enough to register my attention at the time.

working all last week driving around the north shore and no issues. yesterday with nothing. today took the van about 5km to my auntshouse to help her with some yard work and then coming home went via the shops less than 1 km from home. pull out of carpark about to turn onto main road and all of a sudden the van sounds like it's in neutral, no power revs up to about 2.2k rpm showing D in MFD then suddenly shows D2 and power back on. travel about 10m back to D with no power. approaching roundabout... nothing changes I shift in to N then back to S rolling and suddenly it goes to S1 then S then S2 and back to S just kicking the van along in little bunny hops like a learner in a manual. i turn the corner and pull over (first chance without causing traffic chaos) turn off van and start again. same thing, but it got into D4 at about 36km/h then shifting up and down with the D popping in between.

NRMA has just been and suggested having it towed to the dealer on monday morning first thing. He hooked it up to his VAGCOM thing and it showed no faults in either engine or transmission. but when he hopped in and revved it up it cut out at 2000rpm (rev limiter?) and with his foot on the brake would not move even when revved hard (not sure what kind of test this was)

my warranty runs out in 15 days - please I need advice on what this means!

I've got a video of the MFD/DASH of it.
