    T5 Drivers side glass replacement

    Hey guys,
My lovely wife clipped the drivers side mirror and cracked the glass, the mounting and case seems to be ok-how easy is it to refit just the glass? There are a few online glass only options...anyone done it?

Yes its not to hard to do having broken three of the buggers in two of our T5's remove the old one and you will find a connector for the heating element if fitted . The main thing is the way they clip in it is like a ball and socket system you may need to remove the shroud around the outside to get a good grip on the old one , best suggestion on fitting the new one is a small amount of lubricant like a liquid soap on the ball and then push into the socket , as a back up idea I suggest a couple of stiff drinks first as it takes courage to push the new one back on as the fear of breaking it again is always on your mind .

    Thanks mate
Those 'connectors' for the heated component-the look like they are soldered on...how are they removed?

Hmm got me on that one because we used factory parts so the heating element was already on the back of the new glass .
