From the german configurator site, I am guessing TSI350 price around AUD 54K here:
    Comfortline 2.0 TDI 103 kW 7-Gang-DSG 8,2 l/100km 216 g/km 46.850,30 €
    Comfortline 2.0 TDI 132 kW 7-Gang-DSG 8,1 l/100km 214 g/km 50.575,00 €
    Comfortline 2.0 TSI 150 kW 7-Gang-DSG 10,1 l/100km 236 g/km 49.266,00 €

How long before there is solid pricing on the TSI?

Real question for me is what will the economy be like in the real world???

I'd expect to be no worse than the TDI, regardless of what Transporter says ....

My 200+kw TSI Tiguan uses 6.8l/100km on the highway and in the city with my style of driving 11.1l/100km. Our 2011 103TDI Multivan (now with 6300km) uses 7.8l/100km on the highway and in the city with my style of driving 12.2l/100km. I can struggle to get 500km out of a tank sometimes ....

I know from experience that my style of driving sees no real difference in fuel consumption between petrol and diesel (I can easily average 12l/100km in a Golf TDI) in the city and I suspect most won't drive as I do so IMO it would be better than what I get.

So, I'd be expecting to get at most 12l/100km in the city on average ..... and I can live with that ....

Not a 100% sure on exactly which 2.0TSI it is yet ..... Tiguan TSI is the same as in the Jetta/Golf GTI/EOS/Audi A3 and a transverse unit. 155kw/280NM stock, chip only 190kw/400NM. With a few other extras this goes to over 200kw.

Audi has a longitidunal unit 155kw/350NM, found in the A4 & Q5, chip only to 180kw/450NM. This unit has variable valve timing which liberates a bit (70NM) more torque.

Now here is the interesting bits .... Upcoming Amarok will have a longitidunal unit, 120kw/300NM. The fact that the upcoming T5 TSI has 150kw/350NM has raised speculation that it is in fact the Audi valve timing unit. Somebody with erWin may be able to have a look and tell us .....

Also, both VAG TSIs are limited by what the stock turbo will produce, so in order to produce more power an OEM K04 turbo (Audi S3/Golf R) modified to fit is necessary. This raises the Tiguan TSI to 250kw/450NM and the Q5 TSI to 250kw/500NM. Either of these will be fine for me .....

250KW would be crazy! Hate to think what a modified K04 would cost though.

Good thing is .... APR has done all the work for us already. K04 conversions ready for both engines, whichever it turns out to be ....

    2.0TSI Transverse
APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.

    2.0TSI(TFSI) Longitidunal
APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.

If I don't sell my Tig soon, the K04 Transverse kit will end up on it when the tax man comes to pay me back what he gouged from me during the year ....

1st TSI Multivan's expected to reach dealers by November. I'll testdrive 1 st before ordering.

350TSI Specifications now downloadable from VW's website. Official launch must be imminent.

    Importantly, torque is 350NM from 1500rmin to 4000rmin !!!!! thats a 2500rmin torque plateau !!!

Official fuel consumption is higher than the TDI's but I've found the TDI consumption figures to be totally unreliastic .... 103TDI used on average 13l/100km in towndriving and thats with me diving it like I have 1.5 feet in the grave .... drive enthusiastically I'm getting 15l/100km and its still slow. I'm expecting the TSI to deliver the same 13l/100km except I'll be doing 0-100 in 7seconds (once tuned) .....

350TSI testdrive as soon as my local dealers have 1 to drive ....
