T5 2012 model changes and 2.0 TSI Multivan Released in Geneva

Grrrr .... this the van I really wanted .....

..... don't get me wrong, I like our new Van, but this would have been the ultimate VW Multivan for me ....

150kw/350NM 0-100 in 9.5s and 9.8l/100km ..... stock ..... with bi-xenon and LED running lights (incidentally available for MY12 as an option on all T5.2s)

Imagine the tuning opertunities .....

Heh yeah! The_Hawk and I were talking about that this morning... INCLUDING the tuning possibilities.

There's a story about it on the VWwc home page btw

Btw Sharkie, with it having 350Nm of torque, it would seem to indicate that it has the Audi Valve Lift option on it. Whilst I know there are already aftermarket ECU's available, I'm not sure what other limits there may be to tuning possibilities.

If it is the Valve lift head engine, then K04 upgrade kits are out already ..... imagine 250kw/500NM Multivans running around ....

Sharkie you can always trade in or sell privately and buy the TSI one, hell I would.
I will take a real close look when it comes to our way, it could be ideal for my very short trips.

Now that would not be right ..... I've got the TDI and you the TSI ....

Sounds good on paper but truth will be in the driving. Those fuel use numbers almost sound to good to be true. 250kw would be a beast.....but will the gearbox handle it???

I'm not seeing really good fuel consumption after almost 3000kms on the TDI (around 15l/100km city & 9l/100km freeway) .... so it can't be worse than that as far as I'm concerned ....

Besides .... I think my driving style is more suited to a TSI ....

7Spd DSG can handle 550NM (factory rating) so no concerns from me on the power it will be able to cope with .... may at some time have to the clutches but thats about it ....

250kw/500NM 4Motion Multivan would be a bit of a monster in disguise ....

..... I want 1

I also wonder whether all that extra power and torque is negated by the traction control kicking in - particularly on a front wheel drive version?
