Are VW saying the wiring and TCU are "broken/unuseable".Pretty sure trans fluid is non-conductive, so nothing should have shorted out.Why can't they be cleaned up? It's a lot easier for VW to sell you unnecessary new parts if you're the one who's paying.
I think you should only be up for a seal and labour
