    T5.2 dash windscreen vent removal

Here is a technical question for all you guys with the know how, I was going for a surf the other day and took my wedding ring off to chuck it in the centre tray on my dash and it bounces out and rolled into the windescreen vent. Ill be buggered if I can see how to remove it. It does seem like it can come out but I didn't want to force it. It's been a few days now and I'm hoping it hasnt dropped down lower Into the dash. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's basically right in the middle... Or was last time I checked.

You can pull up that center tray, to see the duct leading to the vents, but I doubt that you will be able to remove them trough that opening.

I know this might be a slim chance but try a piece of wire with some blue tack on the end you never know your luck in getting it back keep probing and see how it goes , in the mean time don,t tell your wife !

she was there at the time...we are even now because she lost it the first time at the beach

i tried that with what i had at the time... i could reach it but the angle of the glass really did not help trying to get something down in there. some long nosed right angle pliers might be the go... i'll have another crack tomorrow.

    T5.2 dash windscreen vent removal

Had the windscreen replaced under insurance after a rock hit it a cracked a 30cm long section above the rear view mirror. Took the time to remove the vents while the window was out but no luck it's gone into the depths of the van somewhere.

Under the dash on the passengers side below the glove box right under there is a removable access panel for the replacement of the air filter for the air con if you remove the filter you might be able to get some access to the internals .

Now that's funny ! but wait the gearboxes are "sealed "for life so it won.t get in there , maybe you can find one of those places that crush cars they will be able to use a big machine to pick the van up in its claws and turn it upside down and shake the bugger out .

Just get a new wedding ring.
The ring is just a "symbol" of eternal love.
I am on ring number 3 to same wife. Lost a couple whilst doing water sports.
