T5 08 2.5 strange noise some times after turning the engine off

Hi all, just purchased a Transporter T5 08 2.5 LWD 4motion with a mid roof.
It was a people mover in a mine in QLD and had a 50mm lift kit already.
I have taken out some of the seats and the second aircon and planning to put some chunky tyres so I can take it to Fraser Island etc...

    Anyway
Sometimes, especially after short trips it makes a strange noise after I turn the engine off.
It sounds a bit like a cow and it comes from engine/firewall.

By the way I didn't get the owner's manual with it. Does anyone have a digital copy that I can have?
I don't seem to be able to turn the headlights off during the day.

    Thanks
    Peter

An oldie but a goodie this one has been well and truly done before apparently its cause by the N75 valve an easy fix part no 1KO 906627A This link will help its off this Forum Mystery noise from under the hood The lights that are on are probably Daylight Running Lights , you can only turn them off through the body control module , find someone with the correct connector and laptop program and it should be sweet to modify .

Hi, To add to this thread my 2008 Multivan does it too. But despite a lot of searching online I have not found anything that indicates it does not function correctly despite the moo noise when switching off the engine. No fault code logged. So I have not replaced the N75 valve. Should I replace it purely because it makes the moo noise?

    Cheers, Scott

    Sunny,

Does the noise in itself mean it does not function though? I have no fault codes or running/boost issues otherwise. Cheers, Scott

I have not experienced it myself but from what I have read on this and the English Forums its just a noise nothing more , more of a problem with embarrassment when parking .

Thanks Sunny. The absence of a fault code and a running/boost issue I might leave as is and 'enjoy' the noise.

    Cheers, Scott
