I don't wish to be critical but my caption for the last caption reads:

I know what I have said could be interpreted as you have said but the message I was trying to convey was that here is the main highway through the NT & drovers are using the feed on either side as the "long paddock".
The speed limit has now been reduced to 130km/hr from unlimited but you will see in the photo that the cattle are crossing the road.
If these were my cattle I would be panicking that someone would hit one & sue me for damages, hence my reference to being casual.

I think you'll find that, under these circumstances, it is not the drover than should be panicing..........but the driver.

If you slog a cow on the long paddock in a situation where you (the driver) have be advised of its presence by signage.....then it is the driver that is at fault and therefore liable for damages. Not the cow. Nor the drover. I think you'll find that under these circumstances the owner fo the cow can actually come after you....
