    T4 sliding door bracket

I have just broken the main lower wheel on my 2000 model t4 sliding door. VW wants $400 for a new one. An absolutely insultingly ridiculous price. Definetely a quality well made part but an any engineering workshop could make one, one off in gold for less than this! Does anyone have experience with fixing these. I have taken off the wheel that was pressed on and I just need to aquire a similar one from somewhere and tap in a new thread and bolt it on. Jezza

I agree 100%. I am starting to buy my parts from the UK. I recently purchased a couple of timing belt kits for my T4 & wifes 16 valve POLO. Including postage with tracking I paid $219. Locally these would cost well over $800.
Ebay UK has had either the lower and/or the central assy listed in the past. I didn't need one so I didn't pay much attention.
If you have imparts in WA you could try them. If still no success try the wreckers or as you have suggested make the parts yourself.
Post back here with how you get on.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.
