Yes, fairly normal. There is a guy in Adelaide who owns a 2.5 petrol Syncro that he bought new, from memory in around '97. It's done, again from memory, just under 500,000km. Apart from service items the only major was a replacement clutch around just under 300,000km[from memory] Many years ago he looked at buying a new T5 but was advised to stay with what he has, a decision he has not regretted.
Many owners in the UK with mileages [yes in miles] up to 500'000.
