T4 Oil specifications

Hi All

Just had my t4 2.5 tdi serviced today & have a question about the oil spec. My van uses vw 506.00 oil. Castrol SLX Professional Longlife II is generally what genuine oil is used for extended service intervals (15k), however on the invoice i noticed Mobil 1 ESP was used which is 504.00 & 507.00 spec. Does anyone know whether either of these supercede the 506.00 spec?

Yes, it's OK, VW504.00/507.00 supersedes VW506.01 (in your's) and all other previous VW specs.

Thanks for that Transporter. My van uses 506.00, not 506.01. As far as i know the 2.5tdi is the only engine to use the 506.00. Do you know what the difference between 506.00 & 506.01? If the case is that the 506.00 is superseded, thats good news as it gives other options for oil choice. Thanks.
