Seems to be a problem with the reverse gear itself. Perhaps one or more of the shims that hold it in place has disintegrated?
Ive had a slight ticking in reverse only that has gradualy got loader to a knock. But it was only present in reverse.
Today reversing out the driveway now its is constant exept with your foot on the clutch.
In neutral with foot off the clutch the knock speeds up and slows down when I rev it.
While checking the gearbox oil I notice inside the box above the fill hole somthing is loose and rattles?
I hav no idea if this is normal or not Ive never stuck my finger in the gearbox till now!!
I,ll have to take it to the mechanics on monday, it still drives fine the clutch dosnt slip and still goes in and out easy so Im thinking its in the box.
Any ideas what Im up for?
By the way its a syncro.

Spoke to muller & muller they said its the lack of a syncro in reverse the tooth gets chipped.
So its off to them for a rebuild of the box and a new clutch while its out.
Be good to have it back for xmas!
