T4 heater and A/C vents

A bit confused. When my flow selector on the dash is selected to chest height, only the aircon comes through the centre vents. The outer vents seem to let only air in from outside. When I turn off the a/c and turn the heat up, the centre vents become vents from the outside and the outer vents let the heat in. Seems strange. Is this normal? Hope this makes sense!

Yes loads of sense mate. The AC gets fitted at the dealer ( done squillions) and the heater box gets cut to allow the fitment of the evap. The AC really only goes to the centre, as opposed to the factory climate control which goes to all vents. So you are not having any dramas there mate its normal

Thanks Jmac. Makes sense. One doesn't need A/C on the snow covered autobarns in Germany when doing 180clicks. It just seemed like a strange set up to me but you have cleared this up. Cheers!
