    Hey mate.

There is one guy in the uk who puts them on ebay. Will cost you about $60 delivered. Maybe try the T4 forum first, there is a gut called upssex(?) he sells them even cheaper together with a set of OSRAM Nighbreakers, which I would recommend to use with a loom upgrade anyway. Gives you a much better vision, again these bulbs are also cheaper in the UK

I've found that using the Philips +60% (so-called) globes work quite well as forward lighting in a T4 on rural roads even at low beam. So they'd probably work just fine in the wilds of East Melbourne.

    Hi,
Ive been there recently. First I tried to get HID lights to work with no success. I tried and tried with these but there was no way to control the excessive glare. Viewing the lights through a welding mask i tried extra masking on the bulbs, blacking the masks & bulb backing plates but nothing would fix the glare and this was not acceptable for other (oncoming) road users. Later I heard that BlueRex on Watercooled forum had similar experiences.
The main problem is voltage drop of the standard wiring. Prove this for yourself with a voltmeter from the bulb (connected and turned on) and the battery + terminal. Mine showed a 2.3 V drop max. This will reduce the light output by about half ( google "Voltage drop on halogen bulb" for a good table of info) When you supply the bulbs with 12 V (or more likely 13V when the engine is running) the light output increases appreciably.
I spent a whole day rewiring the lights with relays, new fuses, 5mm wire and all soldered connections- long term these are far more reliable than anything but the very best crimp connections which are nearly impossible to achieve.
The results - Brilliant and well worth the effort. Plus, now that the wiring and fuses are of appropriate size I can put higher power bulbs in to get another upgrade.

    Good Luck
