Question T4 drain holes in tray under windscreen

I am having trouble with water leaking inside the drivers side. I had the windscreen replaced about a month ago but there has been no rain until last Friday, then I found quite a lot of water on the floor.

When I first got the T4 it did the same and I assumed it was coming in the 3cm holes in the tray under the windscreen so I plugged them up, it stopped leaking in but also created a pool of water in the tray that had to evaporate which is not good.

So I guess it must be the windscreen leaking but I have read on the UK forum that the water can also come in through the "A" pillar and cause the same problem.

    - Should the two 3cm holes be plugged up ? and did they have pipes to drain water away?
    - if they should be open, where does the water drain to ?

    Thank you.

When you say there are two 3 cm holes are those the ones about 100mls down from the bottom of the screen if so unblock them they are the chamber drains they allow water to drain away from that area . Next do not trust every windscreen replacement as being perfect I fit sunroofs for a living and quite often I get calls from customers complaining that their sunroof is leaking , I go out and do a check and lo and behold I ask them when it started and funnily enough they have also had a screen done around the same time as the leak started . T4's are notorious for rust around the bottom of the screen as well , did you see the body when the old glass was out ? . I think the reference from the UK is about the rust I mentioned . You should also check inside the engine bay as there are several rubber grommets for wiring if one is loose or popped out water could get through there , last one would be if yours has removable guards you could remove them and clean behind as well and check for rust . Good Luck

Yes the holes are in the gutter at the each corner under the windscreen, I will unblock them, and I think you are right about the screen. When I got the van it had rust in the passenger lower corner of the windscreen, I had it removed and all the rust cut out by a well respected panel repairer.
I will get onto the windscreen guys tomorrow. I still find it unusual that there are such large holes without any sort of grommet in them.!
The water is running down the plastic panel beside the fuse box and door hinge on the drivers side.
    thanks for your help.

Have a look on the roof at the top of the "a "pillar" there is some sealant that is applied to the welded seam that runs the full length of the roof , on my sons T4 this stuff seems to have come away but no water problem so far , as I said if you can remove the guard it might shed some light if there is any rust around that area . There is also a join in the body near the top of the pillar these seem to crack with body twist over time check that as well but my money is on a botched install of the new screen . Those holes allow water to just run down behind the guard and then to the road but leaves and debris can build up in that area so removing the guard would be advisable as well . You will be amazed how much stuff builds up there .
