It's hard to diagnose it over the internet, but first I would check that running fan and it's circuit. I could have a look at your van, depends how far from you're.
Hi,
'97 T4 naturally aspirated diesel, LWB syncro Trakka camper, raised. Love it! Slow, needs a turbo (anyone got a TDI motor they want to give me?)
Hmm, now that I've written that subject it occurs to me perhaps the two are linked. But maybe not.
I've fitted one of these to the negative terminal of my batter because the battery keeps going flat.
Annoying because the stereo and internal lights don't work, and I have to keep opening the bonnet whenever I want to start the van.
Any ideas what might be draining the batterry? I can probably trial-and-error isolate which wire on the positive terminal is assosciated with the problem and work back from there, hoping someone here will have a better idea where to start.
Of course, I've got everything turned off, lights, cabin lights, stereo, amp, isolated the aux battery charger and aux batter circuit.
Altenator diode? How do I check this. How do I get to it to check it. Everything is in such awkward places!

Second issue: Regardless of ambient temperature - even 2.0 degrees in the hills - whenever the engine is running the radiator thermo fans are running. Is this supposed to be the case? Sometimes they continue running for a short period after I turn off the egine, though I understand that to be the normal behaviour of thermo vans.
Thanks in advance, and thanks for all your help in the past.

I'm in Thebarton, work in the city and still moving out of Blackwood so I'm there a bit too.
I'm pretty good with a multimeter and spanners, just don't know the wiring loom in this vehicle at all.
