Have seen the problem on a T4 we owned for a short time after doing an engine transplant I found the clutch sticking and realized it had been modified -welded , took several attempts at spacing the bracket up a little bit until it moved freely .
Hi T4 philes. On my new second hand (2004) Tramsporter, the clutch pedal makes a loud "click" as the pedal is coming up after engaging the clutch.
On closer inspection it seems that the bracket holding the master (clutch) cylinder travels backwards when the pressure is applied to the mastercylinder; thus slightly misaligning the push by the pedal to the master cylinder; ie its pushed sideways as well as down. Seems this has damaged something inside the master cylinder as you can "feel" the click by applying your finger tip to the cylinder.
Seem to recall someone on this site saying there was a weak point about the T4 clutch pedal which can be fixed by welding a bracket somewhere.
Anyone familiar with this? Anyone done it? Anyone with details of this bracket and how best to weld it in?
Thanks in anticipation

Broken pedal bracket is very common on the T4. Do a search on this forum as this has been discussed before. There is a member on the T4forum[UK] that does a healthy trade in changeover brackets. His user name is windwelder.

Have you fixed yours yet? Mine is developing the same issue and I'm wondering how much work it will be to get that pedal out?
