    T4 alternator

Can someone please tell me what size (amps) alternator a 1996 2.0L petrol Transporter would have or is there a way you can tell by just looking at it?

The workshop manual says that it can be either a 65amp or 90 amp?

Parts catalogue only lists either 90A or 120A.

You may also need to detirmine the manufacturer, which will be either Bosch or Valeo.

Hi Umai Naa, just had a look and it is a Bosch 197 311 028. Tried googling it but couldn't find the answer?

Just been having another search to try and find which alternator I have and realized that Bosch 197 311 028 appears to refer to the voltage regulator rather than the alternator.

As you probably realize I don't know much about these matters so any help would be appreciated.

T4s alternator fitments vary from 65 amp to 120 amp, but for Australia probably 90 and 120 amp Bosch, only
seen 90 amp on earlier T4s. It depends, on ambulances and service vehicles maybe 120 amps.
If your alternator still has it's Bosch sticker on it, that should tell you.
