My van has 2 fans. By bridging out the sensor on the radiator I can only get one to work. It appears that the fan only works when the car gets hot (eventhough temp never gets above 90 according to gauge).
I am wrong in assuming that since it has two fans one is slow and one is fast speed. My fast speed works as mentioned above , but the slow speed does not appear to work.
Any thoughts?
Sounds like one fan is buggered

Only one of the fans will not automatically kick in when air con is switched on. The second fan should kick in (and run fast) as an when required on a hot day/idling in traffic and when aircon temp is switched to a lower setting.
Thanks everyone, the high speed fan works when temp gets hot, but the slow fan does not appear to work at all.
From the threads it appears that when bridging out the fans they should both work, be it one at a time. The slow fan should also work when air conditioner is turned on aswell.
So either I have a stuffed fan or a blown fuse.
I noticed this when i turn the car off, the thermo fan used to kick in. I havent heard this for a little while. Of interest is is the slow fan that kicks in after the car has been turned off or is it the fast fan.
Thanks for all you help
Hi everyone,
I was looking at the thermo fan relay today and noticed there are 2 black cyliners which house the wiring that clips onto the relay. Do these black cylinders have fuses in them. If so how do you get them out??
Cheers
