    T4 AET 2.5 petrol issues

    hey guys,
Very new to VW's in general so here goes

My transporter currently has and idling/running issue

what happens is, the car will start if it hasn't been started within approx 1/2 hour, it will slighly miss for about 2-3 mins, if i hold the revs lightly it seems to stays alive running well, however if i let it idle until i think the choke turns off it misses badly and dies a horrible death and will not start until i let it settle, when starting after if has recently died it just cranks and backfires sometimes

it may start sometimes but doesnt run properly and misses extremely, if i apply throttle is just dies

It used to run quite well except to the slight miss at idle, until I flushed the cooling system
(i kinda tried to cheat and flush through the heater core and i'd say i let some water run behind and around the intake manifold which may have something to do with it?)

Any suggestions? i know its hard to diagnose online, but i really don't have the money to waste, on a VW dealer especially being some what of a mechanic myself.

I have had a quick search around, and what seems to be common are:
    - Fuses/Relays
    - the hall sensor
    - the crankshaft sensor
    - coil
    - distributor & sensor
    - leads and plugs
    - idle control valve
    - fuel pump
    - vacuum leaks
    - coolant temp sensor

I know i have some knowledge to go on, but does anyone have a more precise conclusion? If it help i could post a video on youtube and post the link

    Any info helps guys

    cheers

Also add vacuum leaks and coolant temperature sensor to that list.

check your dissy cap and rotor sounds like they are burnt out, water thats falls from the expansion bottle whilst filling usually lands on the dissy cap and if it's weak it will give these symptoms...easy place to start.
