Hi,
I have a 2002 T4 syncro TDI Manual.
Sometimes I go to start it and the dash lights come on but nothing happens, the engine does not turn over.
I go back 10 mins later then it starts fine. This has happend about 5 times in 12 months.
Then yesterday I went to start it and it would not start all day.
Is this a ignition switch problem?
Thanks,

Sounds like your ignition barrel maybe worn, mine has been like that for a few years now. I have to lift the key up slightly when turn the ignition and it starts fine, have had a few mechanics etc tell me the car would not start, just told them to lift the key and away they went.
There is a chip in the T4 keys it could be faulty , maybe take it and see if they can clone it at a key place like Mr Minit . I had one done for a T4 as it would not start and it was the key .
I had this on my T4. Ignition problem. New leads fixed from memory
