T4 1999 steering column grease nipples

    Hi

Does anyone know if there are any grease nipples anywhere on the steering column of a 1999 VW T4 manual 2.5 petrol? I have been getting a squealing noise coming from the steering, it only happens occasionally and only when stationary or when pulling into/out of a parking space. It also happened when up on a hoist at the mechanics while doing a major service, he was surprised and he didn't know what it was. I googled but could find no info on greasable joints or nipples.
Any help would be appreciated before I take it back to the mechanic for an explorative and possibly expensive visit.
    thank you. steve

No grease nipples. Mine does that very occasionally, in fact on my previously owned T4 as well. I haven't investigated it but a thought I had was the wheel may be touching the plastic covers over the switches.
