    Starting issue

Yesterday morning the battery died in my 2011 T5 multivan, towed home last night from up the road. Put a new battery in tonight when I got home from work and now won't start.
Any suggestions before I have to get it towed to a mechanic?
Thanks in advance, hoping to get lucky with this one
    Cheers Dave

What happens when you turn the key, do any lights come on the cluster, if so what ones?
    Have you checked the fuses?
Why do you think the battery died?

Battery was orig so 4yrs old, has an indicator on top that said replace, there was not enough power to lock the doors even. It's used for lots of short trips, that combined with so many lights/electric everything, it's not really a surprise it gave up.
I have checked every fuse I could find, middle/under dash, under passenger seat and engine bay.
New battery in engine cranks, all the usual lights come up on the dash then go out, except for the couple that only go out once it starts.
After about 1-2 seconds of cranking it sounds like it almost fired then just cranks.

Only a suggestion disconnect the battery with the lights on and then wait a minute or two reconnect and see what happens .

Not sure about Multi's, but on mine there's a 2nd battery under the drivers seat to run most of the electrics.
    Maybe your's needs charging there?

    Thanks guys
It seems there is more to this story,
Alternator belt has split and bits are missing, atm presumed to be sucked into timing cover! So now it needs to go to the dealer to be taken apart to find out and to see if the motor is cactus. I would of thought that a dodgy belt should of been picked up at the 3rd service 2 months ago.
Now I wish I had got an extended warranty!

The only way for my air cooled to help out now is to sell it to pay for repairs! Let's hope it doesn't come to that
