    Question Starter motor problems question again

    Wondering if anyone knows the correct numbers for a starter motor for a 2002 Tdi auto Transporter? Is there a difference between the starters for the autos and manuals.
    Appreciate any help.Husband not happy! Thanks to the guys who helped with the previous thread.

    Only info I have (from the Brooklands manual) is that the starter for the late model diesel vans is a Bosch with a minimum brush length of 13mm....which isn't that helpful.

    The petrol starter will be different (smaller, weaker) to the diesel starter. But I'd doubt there'd be a difference between starters due to transmissions....

    A quick squiz at the Bosch parts list on the web suggests that the starter you 'might' be looking for is Bosch BX125001....and Bosch don't differentiate between transmissions
