speedo problem

I have aT4 and have just put a T5 turbo 2.5 motor and box into my transporter all is good but the speedo will not work can somebody give me areason why and how to fix it
this van is a joy to drive now as the new motor is so much better than the old 2.4 motor

If the T4 speedo was non Can-bus and the T5 is Can-bus that might explain it ?

I don't know what the T4 speedo setup is, and I don't know how to fix it (unless you can install the T4 sender into a T5 gearbox).
