Pioneer Platform was around the $1600 fitted mark. (I bought a bunch of other stuff on the same invoice and can’t remember the exact price) I have the biggest one they offer 2728x1465 with the lowest legs so as to keep the overall height under 2.1m
I have also thought of roof top beers and want a ladder for my tailgate though, will see how that pans out. Hehe

Looks good man, did you look into any of the issues with power etc in this thread and figure it all out? Im good with wiring etc just not great at the maths behind it all.

I'm thinking of getting this exact bar, but don't ant to melt anything hahaha.

Update on this, have gone with a set of Sachs rear shocks on recommendation from my friend whom I bought the springs off.

My rear springs are the raised standard option as I carry about 200kg worth of gear/tools around everyday.
    Hope this helps?

So I installed new rear shocks last Friday because I had a feeling the old ones were shot, turns out I was right.
New shock on the right, old ones down the bottom after me compressing them down and they didn't return haha

Fitted the Relleum Design recovery points today. A little challenging but got there in the end.

There's definitely a lot more to them than the standard towing eye.

In this pic you can see the threaded tube that I cut out that the original towing eye attaches too. It is very, very simple and I'd strongly suggest no one ever snatches from the standard point, ever.
It should only be used to pull the vehicle up onto a tow truck, that's it.
The plastic tube is a locator and is there to help install the eyes when they are needed for use. When not in use they come with 2 rubber plugs for the holes that you cut in the bumper.

I see Syncro has advertised that he has them for sale in Aus now, if you (or your mechanic) purchase a set and want some tips and advice on how to install them just ask and I'd be happy to help out.

Hey mate, sick van!! that's exactly what i want mine to set up to...eventually.

just got a couple questions if you wouldn't mine helping out.

so i've bought the same platform as you (i think) 2128 x 1426mm,

but how did you get it sit so low to the roof?

    what legs were you using?

    cheers

Cheers mate mines the bigger one.
Part numbers from the first line of my invoice
    1x 42104B
    3x RLTFT5
    3x RLTP
And description of these part numbers is
PIONEER PLATFORM FITTED HEAVY DUTY LEG KIT.
VW T5 TRACK & FIXED MOUNT LOW

I bought it from All Vehicle Accessories in Port Melbourne VIC. They also fitted it for me.

In hindsight and if I had of actually known or realised, I would have gone with four cross bars and 8 legs, as three across the 2718 x 1465 span isn’t enough when I get up there to tie things off as it flexes and nearly touches the roof. If it becomes an issue when carrying larger loads I’ll probably invest in additional cross bar.

    Hope this helps
