Also wanted to pass on my thanks for your notes and pics on this. To try and hide the damage caused to the plastic grill during the supposedly professionally fitting of my 20" light bar (and you can't buy a replacement grill...you need a whole new front bumper), I installed the same 32" bar as yours, following your instructions. Metal fabrication isn't my strong suit...but you can't use the standard mounts to the cross member...and without your pics I'd have never got there.
I have some lifted king springs if you're keen...

Fitted a Front Runner tail gate ladder today.
Easy as and works a treat. Now tying off my ladders and other stuff is a breeze.
Just used the stick on lower mount for now which saves having to drill into the tail gate.
This has been a great thread to read.
I'm actually looking at mounting a Rhino rack pioneer platform to my transporter as well. (I am bringing it across from my 4WD)
I was wondering how you managed to fit the low-profile Rhino legs? I've looked all over the place online, and can only find a mounting kit for the high-profile legs (RLTF / RLTFT5).
Thanks heaps mate glad you appreciate it.
The short legs were organised by the sales guy I bought the rack from. He basically ordered them as a separate part along with the regular large ones that come in the kit and swapped them in at the install. Then kept the longer legs for other installs that they would normally do.
From my purchase invoice the short leg part number is RLTP (Track and fixed mount low) is the description.
You would also need “VW T5 Heavy Duty Bracket C341” for the bottom of each leg if you do not have the roof channel system installed from factory.
Thanks, much appreciated.
I wonder if I can get that C341 part ordered separately.. I'll make some enquiries.
Evening Markee, great thread. Looks like you have put some time into this beast, great motivation for my build. You have set a high standard!
I have a T6 4 motion and am slowly following your path. We often cross paths around Williams Rd. Lately I've been in one of my business vans (18 Transit. I'm also a sparky, based in R'mond) but today I went north in the T6. It reminded me why I love it so much, hence why I'm back on this forum!
