    Sliding door not locking open

The sliding door on the passenger side of my 2010 vintage van is no longer locking open if it hits the stopper with anything more than a careful click... where the other side can be essentially slammed open and it catches and locks open.

Now yes it's almost 4 years of [kids] getting in and out of the side on the footpath that's likely caused the issue and it looks to me that the likely culprit is the small spring in the mechanism that has just lost some of it's spring over time. It still fundamentally works, just not quick enough to catch the door when it's moving.

A quick look at ETKA and it seems like the whole mechanism is one part (so no part number for the spring itself).

Has anyone else had this problem? Fixed this problem?

Any idea how I identify what the spring is and where I would source a replacement?

(When I get a chance I'll unclip the old one and gran a photo... and while I'm thinking about it I might swap the two sides over giving me a chance to test my theory and move the problem one to a door that's less often used.)

i'm having the same issue with my 2011 T5. I haven't really looked at it though. Interested to see your outcome.

I've had a look, there is a 4mm (i think) torx screw on the bottom that supports the pin that the door latches onto. loosen that, give it a jiggle and retighten, but not too tight. It needs some play.
I just did it on mine and seems to work.

Let me know how u go

I've had this problem too, and found a bit of Ez-Glide on the latch hook works well.
