Hey all,
This is more or less a last ditch effort, and hoping someone might have a lead for me to follow.
My T4 syncro was fitted with a Seitz window by Trakka back in the day, and after 23 years of driving on **** aussie roads and corrugations, it has developed a crack.
Seitz as a brand has been picked up by Dometic and the exact window looks to be a Seitz S4, which is still produced. So I was hopeful that I would be able to find a replacement window pane (they call them a blade). However, it appears that the window which was fitted was a bespoke size specifically for the T4 as it is 1130x520 (The blade is 1065x450), a little bit of google sleuthing tells me that the factory T4 windows are 1126x523. Now, unfortunately for me, Dometic no longer produces, or stocks the windows in this size, I have spoken to parts rep from Dometic Australia, as well as a couple dealers.
Trakka was not much help either, they just said that they no longer stock the part. (Fair enough)
So. The question is, does anybody know anywhere in the country that might have some new old stock of this size?
If it helps, the markings on the window are as follows:
>PMMA< SEITZ 14741
Bonoplex 5777/6010
D 2265
Failing that, what are some suggestions for replacing the window (Drivers side mid panel). Ideally it still needs to be something that can be opened, for airflow while at camp on a hot day. I see that both Just Kampers and Heritage Parts Centre in the UK have sliding glass available, but I am loath to order a panel of glass from the UK. Any leads on where I might find something locally?
Cheers
I would suggest you contact opne of the van conversion people who convert commercial vans into people movers , back 23 years ago I had a business where we would fit windows into several different vans but have been out of that industry since 2020 here are a couple top start your hunt . / Sliding Van Window - AJ Plastics Manufacturing Van Windows lastly this place used to be our main supplier as they were known back then as Kingsley Enterprises Windows Archives - Bushranger 4x4 Gear Good luck as you may not be aware companies in the auto industry are not required even by law to keep parts after 10 years from the sale of the last model .
