    roof racks on fibreglass roof?

Hi, has anyone successfully fitted roof racks on a fibreglass roof? I have a T5 ex-ambulance and would like to be able to carry my canoe. If you've had racks fitted to your fibreglass roof or poptop, which brand? What type of fitting? Any problems? Price?
    Regards,

    Konrad

Just enquired about that today for LOLA, my ex ambo t5 Tranny.
I am going to fit a tradesman rack on runners/rails , no one seems too keen to fit the rack( one place was talking $1000 for fitting, including bracing to body shell) but I can get all the parts and manage it myself.
There are definately rails available from a few manufacturers, ie thule, rola for fitment to canopies and then just fit bars to those, or a full tradesman cage in my case.
I have seen 3 so far with racks attached, might not be in accordance with VW's load rating for the 'glass roof (0kg), but then rules are for fools!!!

Am not getting racks till Jan, as custom shelving is ready to be fitted and paid next week, and it got hot so I had to get the new ARB 'fridge!! But I will post pics when it happens.

P.S. approx $650 for rails and 3 aero bars
