Go via dealer for the part numbers and then try to buy online. The part has been revised, so if you go buying ebay stuff you may end up in the same situation.

Apparently the newer versions have different splines, so worth going via the dealer.

You may be able to get the driveshaft as an exchange part.

I don,t have the part number for the CV joint axle etc as I did not need to replace that part , As I explained on the other post my cv joint axle etc was fine the fault seems to be in the spline stub the short part . If you buy the VW part that is the stub spline at $493 plus gst you will still be in front of the two parts you buy from EBay . I just looked at parts from the UK and the axle will come in at $540 plus the spline at $150 $690 total . Now there are cheaper ones listed but you get what you pay for as others and I have stated VW have changed the part to fix earlier failure problems so it is better . Part number for the spline is VW-02Z409345B
