    Have you tried V Group in Ferntree Gully, they do most of Burwin's installs?

    Thankyou very much for your suggestion.
    No offence intended...but it's very very funny you should mention them (at least to me
    No...on this occassion I have not tried them...despite them being literally a 15 minute walk from my house.
    They actually did the dealer options for my van..including the current fixed windows...and what a terrible saga that turned out to be...although I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt...and you wouldn't believe how often I get referred to them...for things like towbars, etc.
    So when I wanted to fit out the rest of my van I went to them...emailed them...rang them...even went and turned up in reception twice...and every time they said they would get back to me...and they never once did...after 12 months...and they weren't the only one's...I ended up driving thousands of km's to Gloucester to have the work done...which I was very happy with.
    I think with V group...in the end...I had to assume they only wanted to deal with dealers...and not with individuals...although it might have been just me...and likely after you read this...albiet after a couple of wines...you might be inclined to agree
    But as I said...thanks very much for making the time to help.

    Truth be known I am starting to tire of the process - maybe I should just try to find a fly wire screen that fits over the drive or passenger door window? - for the occassional times that I need it - and save myself $800 plus
    You could try these for a quick, cheap alternative Cab Window Air Vent for T4 1990–2003 :: Just Kampers Australia

    They don't supply a real lot of ventilation but at least you know that the air is being replenished over as you sleep. They also provide security and protection if it rains.

    What a fantastic product (for what I need) and a fantastic site/business.
    No doubt I'll be spending some hours looking through what they've got.
    Unfortunately for me and my T5 at this time from their Q&A section;
    "The T5 window is significantly different to the T4 so converting this item would not be viable. We will be looking into getting this item for the T5 but as yet have not found anyone supplying this"
    Thankyou for the information.

    And this would be a problem for me to having electric windows;
    "Please note, these vents are not compatible with electric windows, as they will interfere with the sensors."
    But if they do come up with a T5 model it may not be an issue.

    (basically the same as the Bushranger Jet-tec window)
    That is for a Globe bonded sliding window.
    I think I'll sit on this for a while and see how I go making up my own insect screen for the drivers door window as suggested on another thread.
    Thanks to everyone for your advice and assistance. It's appreciated.
    Apologies that I am not much of a contributor to the forum in return. But it's basically due to just surviving at this stage. Hopefully I am at least documenting my own requests well enough so they might be of more value to others in the future. And I do answer the occasional PM I get.

    Sorry to hear that as my last experience was the exact opposite. I had about $6000 worth of accessories installed by them through Burwins on my current T5 back in 2007. My front nudge/bull bar had lost the front attachment bolts and dropped almost to the ground. I strapped it up and drove to V-group really only looking to buy the bolts because I didn't know the size, had tried a few with no luck. They actually had me drive in, (I arrived unannounced) and spent upto an hour fixing it. The threads of the vans attachment points had stripped a little and to be honest I think the last dealer service is where it wasn't reattached properly. They re-threaded the holes, new longer bolts and charged me $50. All this on something they had installed 6 years ago.

    I suspect it is a matter of timing. My issue(s) were from mid to late 2010. I understand they were (still are?) a long time family run company. I dealt with a son who explained his mother was running it and I got the impression the father had passed on not that long before. I think there might have been 2 sons and the couple of morning production meetings I observed were pretty animated. Anyway my problems started with my dealer (not Burwin) and then got compounded by Vgroup). In the end the dealer avoided their responsibility and left me working with them directly. And they/we eventually got it all sorted but it took months. As I said, my issues may have just been a once off problem. But when I tried to contact them again for more work I wanted done, I got ignored, multiple times (2 emails, 2 phone calls & 2 visits - I eventually get the hint). It might have been because they just didn't want to deal with me again. I got the impression eventually though, that they just didn't want to deal with individuals any more. Maybe it was a deliberate change of direction. Whatever it is, I certainly won't be wasting any more of my time trying to get in contact with them.

    Totally understandable. I call it the "polite p1s5-off", a case of don't actually say it but their actions show it. Who did you use afterwards?
