    Replacement T4 radio aerial

It hasn't been my week - now my radio aerial's been snapped off. Anyone know of replacements available anywhere or is it just a choice between VW (if they still do them - and I shudder at the potential price...) or the wreckers?

Deeceer......I think the aerial is a cartridge unit.

Have a squiz at the base. On the top of the black section you'll see a nut which you should be able to undo and release the extension section. Take this down to a specialist car audio shop and see what can be done...

Thanks Seano - I'll check it again when I get home tonight though I don't recall a nut, just a rounded top to the black section.

Indeed you were right Seano - I hadn't spotted the nut because it's black and topped by the domed plastic sheath around the bottom section of the aerial. Looks like a job to be careful with so as not to mar paint. Thanks.

In the raintray between the aerial mounting hole and the windscreen is a hole that an aftermarket aerial fits into perfectly. I have replaced mine with a bendy rubber one which cannot break. $10.

I see what you mean but isn't that a rain drain hole? There's another at the other side.

I do like those rubber aerials though, had one on a Falcon van years ago after getting sick of idiots snapping the metal ones.
