They're designed for towing. Not snatching. The force applied from the kinetic energy is huge. They can snap tow points on proper 4wds.

Again they’re towing eyes Sunny. The Relium ones are rated to 8t and can be used in conjunction with a bridle and snatch strap to be ‘snatched’ out of trouble, should the need arise.
You could probably be winched out using the standard towing eye but I much rather the Relium ones TBH.

Yeah, that’s my thoughts as well. Surely there is a cheaper solution. I’d be looking at local fabricators.

Reading what they are, one company seems to just find another tow eye and receptacle and bolt it to the other chassis rail... Seems a bit steep for that.

There are plenty of Aussie companies that make specific components same as those Relium ones some even rated to 12 Ton so I would imagine they would have something that would do the job .http://www.bpwtranspec.com.au/wp-con...s_brochure.pdf But I only posted this as I can,t see just one company in Germany making something that will work , can I ask is the point where the Relium ones bolt into strong enough for the loads expected ? I would imagine that sort of kinetic energy could rip out the threads or do some damage to the chassis itself . I watched a Landrover Discovery tear off its winch because it was rated to a certain number of KG but the mounts just tore out like tissue paper under load from the chassis .

I believe the Relium unit needs a bit of extra fitting to increase the pulling capacity.

I recall reading about these a year ago, but the price and the added fitting to increase the capacity put me off.

I'll see if i can find the info i read.

Yeah the Rellium ones don't just "screw" into the chassis, there's actually a bit of work involved in the install.
As for an aussie made product, they would need to be engineered to be rated and if they don't exist for our vans here in Aus then the engineering expense will be passed on to us and new users per se.

So I’ve finally received a price.

To buy 4 sets would be approx $731 per set each. This includes shipping of the 4 sets to me.
There would then be an additional small shipping cost to get them to you here in Australia if you couldn’t pick them up from me.
If you would like a set I would need full payment up front due to the overall cost of nearly $3000 and also take into any customs and duty charges if we can’t get a commercial invoice with a lower price stated on it.

    Let me know.
