Just wondering if someone can help. I have fitted a rear tow bar attached jerry can and spare tyre carrier. The number plate has to be mounted on it and the number plate light doesn't work. I have the 13 pin Euro to 7pin flat trailer adapter and the wiring for the number plate light plugs into the 7 pin.

With this carrier you are able to tow a light trailer at the same time so there is a socket for the trailer plug to plug into as well as run off to the carrier's number light. All the wiring is ok as I have checked it quite a few times. I see in the converter cable from 13 pin to the 7 flat plug that the black (reversing) wire and the brown (rear lamps etc) each has a diode and the black goes to pin 7 (not pin 2) with the brown.

It is a LED light but I have tried a normal one and that doesn't work either. I feel it must be something to do with the diodes and switching off the reversing sensors but can't figure how to get around the problem.

My only solution at the moment is to buy a small self contained battery light as a temporary measure. Any help gratefully received, Thankyou.
