You could always change to the bigger (but manual) Transporter mirrors....they're flat on both sides.

Can't you get used to a convex mirror?

Convex mirrors have saved my skin several times over.

I thought the power mirrors were flat but with a split near the outside.
The manual ones are flat, on my '01. Unless you are changing drivers, I can't see the point of electric mirrors. I had them on my previous van & never needed to adjust them. My current van has manual mirrors & they are fine with less things to go wrong as it gets older.

This might be a stupid question, but on the drivers side convex mirrorof a T5 what does the vertical dotted line on the r/h//s of the mirror indicate or should I just read the manual?

    Hi Jets,
Power mirrors and windows, along with heated demister for the mirrors is a no choice option if the safety pack was selected for the later T4 transporter.
Safety Pack was ABS and passenger side airbag.
ABS also means EDL was included.

    Both my mirrors are flat.
I would prefer is both mirrors had been either vertical or both horizontal.
Thought of getting a european mirror for the right side, just to balance the looks.

My previous ex ambulance['01 model] had power & heated mirrors & ABS.
There were manual window winders & only drivers airbag.

Bulk orders like Ambulance probably get to specify their own option packages. This was certainly the case with the older T3 Syncros that Telstra ordered in the late 80's. They had an option configuration that wasn't available to the general public.

It should be no problem to get the mirror glass without the "aspherical" gimmik.

I had to replace my mirror very fast and now I am really missing the larger range.

Your local dealer should be able to find the right part number of the mirror glass in it's catalouge.

    I found this one in ebay.co.uk: http://search.ebay.de/330342174082

    Greetings, Martin
