Problem with Multivan Highline motorised doors

    Hi all,

Our 2005 Highline has the motorised side doors. Yesterday the doors refuse to open. The motor that latches and unlatches works, but the doors do not slide back. There is a cable and winch mechanism on each door that does not appear to be working. As both doors faulted at the same time I'm thinking it's a fuse, but which one I haven't the faintest idea. Anyone here know where to look?
    Thanks,

    Checked the voltages:
    Engine off 12.43v
    Engine on 14.31v
I don't think the battery is a problem.

Was down at Port Adelaide on Sunday when I noticed a rapidly vibrating sound coming from the rear. I was driving at the time, and pulled over, but it stopped when I put gear into reverse to park. The only motors in the rear f the vehicle to make a noise like that could possibly be the door motors?

I'll try to find the fuse over the weekend. Any help appreciated.

    Hi Dave,
After a couple of aborted attempts from the dealer in updating the unit I installed a Kenwood system with sat nav. Can't remember the model number, as it was a few years ago now.

Found the problem. The other half had played around with the side door controls on the front dash. She pushed the lock button, and not knowing what it did, she just complained that the doors wouldn't open.
Even after driving the car for ten years she has no idea what the dash controls are for .....

On my '05 Highline the door control unit failed ( only one side though) , so the winch doesn't work and the car thinks the door is still open even when you have closed it manually. You will have a door-open indicator on the computer display even when it's shut.
If your dashboard display indicates that the doors are closed, you may luckily just have a fuse problem.
If the dashboard display shows the door to be open, the door-open alarm will be going off if you try to drive- stop, and press the side door lock button on the dashboard- it should cancel the alarm.
