Opening rear door from inside

2nd question for a newbie.
It appears to me that there is no inside door opener on the rear hatch. Has anyone done a mod, or is one available?

My kombi beach (similair to a multivan) has a black lift handle about midway between the window and the bottom, and if pulled from inside the door releases and goes up. From that point there is no way to stop it, and it is only slowed by the gas struts. Once open, it can be pulled down and in by a strap handle, but I have found no way to give it the final slam to close it completely.

Hey Coi My 08 ambo has a hand made alloy nob on a rod that you lift left of center no wiper on my van so can be done , I didn't realise you could not open std van from the inside

Thanks Greg.
I took the trim off, and found it's quite easy to put a bowden cable, looped around a ball joint that attaches to the outside handle. So now I have a nob to the left of the wiper. Works good. Next problem, cant reach the closing strap !
