Not the easiest but also not the most difficult filter to get to.
You need 32 or 36mm short spanner or socket with the short ratchet or long extension and the ratchet.

Be sure to do this with the bottom tray off, and drench the area with degreaser when you're done.
It's a cow of a spot to put a filter, but once you've done it a couple of times, it's pretty straight-forward.

For the BPC engines you need 32mm socket the AXE is 36mm. Just make sure you don't overfill the engine.

Hi I found this oil from Nulon and its recomended for the T5 1.9l turbo diesel. Has anyone heard or used it yet?
It is available in Supercheap Auto in 10lts for $87 on special this week .

For the similar money you can buy one of the approved oils, when they're on sale. Don't be the quinea pig.
Penrite, Shell have approved oils you can buy from Supercheap for a good price.

I am using Penrite Enviro 5-30. It meets the 504-507 standards. I use it as my mechanic has an official letter from VW Germany stating that is ok to use.
What about ones built in may 2006 but without a DPF filter? Also, if the post 2006 can use VW507.00, was the engine redesigned mechanically, otherwise it stands to reason that pre 2006 could also use VW507.00, and therefore also the current VW504/507.
No one has been able to answer this satisfactorily for me even on british forums.
