from this angle it doesn't look centred as Ian pointed out.
ADR rules are changed and you can now mount a light bar above the bonnet line or on top of a bull bar. However driver visibility comes into play and if too high may still get you a ticket under a different rule

You still have the pedestrian impact zone to comply with in L15.3

Vehicle standards instructions (Department of Transport and Main Roads)

i'd be hard pressed to find a transport inspector to think that that fitment would pass, having said that I'm only going off our QLD rules as this were I'm based.

Yes getting nailed by Qld Transport inspectors has always had me worried until a couple of weeks ago . I was pulled into an inspection bay at Fernvale just nor west of Brissy , the guy checked every detail of the van lights etc . I am sitting there thinking he is going to nail me for having Holden 1 Ton alloy rims on the van with the GM logo easily identified on the caps . Stupid me even tried to goad him into making a comment by drawing his attention to the rims , well he never even for a second gave it much thought even though I persisted in seeing what he would say {IDIOT Howard } anyway he just said as long as they didn't extend past the guards he was happy . I did then tell him they were off a V8 powered Holden Crewman also clssified as a 1 tonner as well . I drove away happy after patting him lightly on the shoulder and told him that he was a good bloke !! My Cree light bar is in the front grill area so that was no problem , now here is where I did think it may have been an issue as mine is connected to the high beams with no cut off switch , amazingly a few days earlier the relay had gone out to lunch and had stopped the Cree from working so he was not aware when I flashed the high beams that it was not working .

You only get pulled over in NSW if you are over 2.5 tonne.

I've heard the transport think it's a joke, but it's there because there is no standard for identifying load rating on rims

Not up here they will stop any one any where , I have seen them pull cars over for inspection even driving along minding your own business . Naturally the heavy vehicle is their main target but no one is exempt .

These guys are the Queensland Transport Compliance department , they are safety first and are looking for unroadworthy or modified vehicles , road traffic infringments are for the police . These guys will put you off the road in a blink of an eye .
