I only noticed it after I got it back from the clutch/DMF job.
The noise from them may have disguised it.
Is it a coincidence that things suddenly start going awry after VW has been fooling with it?

They probably thought they would lighten your wallet a bit more , same thing happened to our old T5 it went into VW for what was a suspected broken camshaft . Turned out to be a bearing in the aircon had failed and in turn it broke the compressor mount . So $3600 later I pick up the van and they tell me the turbo is leaking oil and needs replacing , what I love about VW is the way they so nonchalantly tell you how much it will be to fix . The service bloke tells me without a hint of emotion that it will cost $6000 to replace , yeah sure fella I have a lazy extra 6k just wasting away somewhere to put into you greedy bastards pockets . No wonder people call them car stealers , do you notice real honest mechanics have mediocre workshops and grease on their hands . Not these pricks multi million dollar workshops you could eat off the floor from , and that's how they get rich on us poor saps . Okay rant over got that of my chest . LOL .
Got my new EGR and moo valve from VW yesterday.
Funny..........the engine management light went out today on the way to the tip!
Anyway........I had a think about it and remembered that I filled up with truck diesel rather than Ultimate.
It's making me wonder.............

There is a very interesting video I saw on YouTube the other night showing how to delete the EGR and some other stuff , what amazed me was the amount of gunk that was blocking the EGR and the connected pipe . It was like 60% blocked no wonder the cars will die . It was on an older VW car but same principal never the less . Link here . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn6jiEpADYg
It would be tempting to delete the EGR, it can't be good for the engine long term.
Yes it may be illegal, but technically from what i gather we weren't meeting the Emissions anyway,
Add the fact, we don't have yearly inspections up here in QLD, i'm sure it gets done a fair bit.
after the VW warranty expires of course

It,s already been offered to me without prompting by a place I know , they seemed very knowledgeable about the downside of both the DPF and its partner in crime the EGR .
Hi Markee, confidence level high but knowledge not so great. I'm a quick learner after building a hotrod and several restorations!
I have sent you my email address. Cheers Mark
