The timing suits me well. It could be a year later when we see it in AU, so 2016, I will wait another 2 years too see if there are any quibbles and I'll consider it, as long as the engine option is a bit better than today's attempts with 2.0L TDI from the passanger range of Golfs.

Looks very similar to the new Caddy concept seen a few months ago I remember commenting on how with the narrow headlight and grill it looks menacing almost has frown on it's face .
Looking at the new Ford Transit range in the UK I can't help wondering if VW will go the same way and kill the cab chassis version in an effort to allow for a heavily stylised van (T6) and keep with a more commercial cab chassis (Crafter). Something that looks like the concept image just wouldn't work as a cab chassis.
Given my predilection for dual cabs, I am looking semi-seriously at the upcoming Transit (lot of vehicle for the money) and the current Iveco (expensive but made for long service life) rather than the VW to be honest.
You're right about about the features in the all new Transit, very well thought out for a commercial van, only problem is it doesn't seem to have the more powerful I5 tdi as in the Ranger. And now that the Amarok will get a V6 Tdi in a "performance" model with 8speed ZF Auto one can only hope about such a powertrain in a T6.

I've been quietly waiting for a new Multivan. My current lease is up in 2015 (although I think my extended warranty is to 2016) so if it comes out in 15/16 I could work with that
The styling looks good, although I think you loose half of it when you put the third row of Windows in.

This link goes to a concept drawing of the e-Co-motion concept which in itself is prelude to the new T6 family.
We should start seeing mules soon.

Sorry but I call horse poo on the Amarok ever getting a V6 let alone the T6 despite the recent 'concepts'.
And the US version of the Transit comes with a 3.7L V6 petrol. 3.5L EcoBoost V6 and a 3.2L I-5 TDI (the Ranger engine)...not the 2.2L TDI that is going into the Euro spec vehicles. So it's not like that Ford Oz don't have a choice of engines to select for the Oz spec Transit.
Thing is that Transit is now much bigger than T5 and not in its size class - more a Crafter competitor. The new Transit Custom will be the T6 competitor...and it has similar spec to T5 et al. T6 won't need a V6 to be competitive in its very price sensitive class so why would they bother?
...they might bring one in for you if you ask nicely and they've ADR'ed it. Otherwise, I doubt they'd bother to do it. The cab chassis' were preferred as their primary market dictated the need to fit customised service bodies.
Dual cab with a roller door box body for Transporter, perhaps?
The Iveco's and their M-B truck (not Sprinter) equivalents are going to become much more common as the current Landcruiser and Patrol commercials end their production (never to return) in the next five years and the existing fleet is retired...
