Like Sunny pointed out, it is similar to the concept released quite a few years back.

I think the vehicle industry has reached it peak combustion phase, over the next 13 years to 2030 we will see the majority of the vehicles with limited emissions, with battery powered vehicle leading the way.

The development in the last 10 years of battery output and new tech has been leading the way for the reduction of fossil burning vehicles.

Going to miss the sound of V8's, but the instant torque from EV will help.

EV is fine as long as it can pull a two ton van and its load and or trailer . Some time car makers forget that Australia is very different geographically than other countries . They goofed with no oil cooler for the Tiptronic and it used to cook the fluid in our heat . Up side is I will very likely not be worrying too much about driving far then .

It'll be interesting how the EV Crafters go for real world use with loads...

I don't get the geographical difference between here and Europe, it gets overplayed, normally by manufacturers to try to make us pay for overpriced goods.

I'm all for Aussie made goods, but most of the time, the european products are normally best, due to be research, which comes down to a larger market share and better manufacturing (we still do good things in this country, but our manufacturing industry is in a lot of trouble.)

We do have larger distances between localities, no doubt about that, travelling in Australia, involves long distances, but highway km are better on a vehicle than stop start traffic.

There are more extreme temperature variances for cold and heat in Europe... we don't get -20-30 Degree winters like in Scananavia and other parts of europe, and Turkey, Spain get temperatures up to 45 degrees.

As for the roads, the rural roads in some of these countries, make our average roads look pretty dam good, we do have a far bit of desert here, but i'd take the desert over a Turkish, Spanish, Eastern European bush track any day.

Trials start this year in europe, with a range of 208km and a charge time of 50 minutes, i can see this working well in the cities. it work here too (in the cities)

well that is if they have a charger at each commercial loading zone, so they can charge while dropping of goods.

Ah but is that distance unloaded or loaded will make a huge difference if the latter .

It'll just be show boating if that distance isn't loaded, VW wouldn't mislead anyone lol

Still i think 208km is highly optimistic, but that floor area holds a lot of batteries within that chassis, the truth is yet to be revealed.
