    New T6 Multivan

Exciting news. I picked up my new T6 4Motion Multivan today. Cherry Red. It took just under 4 months from ordering to delivery, so I was bursting with excitement by the time it finally arrived.
I traded in my trusty old Toyota Super Custom. The difference in ride, handling and comfort between the two is indescribable. I reckon I'm going to need a degree in technology though to work out all the gadgetry in the Multivan.

Wow great news hope you enjoy the new van , I had an interesting reply today after I posted question on VW Australia's Face book page . I was questioning them on why there was no 2.0 TSI model available , they told me it was because of lack of demand . Now that would have been the case ten years ago as diesels were the "IN 'thing at that time , but today with advances in technology and all the kerfuffle about diesel emissions it is time for VW to reintroduce the petrol models again . Whatever you do keep you foot planted from time to time to avoid the dreaded DPF problem .

Thanks Sunny. I'm surprised at VWs lack of options on Australian models, especially since they seem to be ordering cars as they are required. It would be brilliant if we could pick and choose from all the options that VW provide. The T6 has even less options than the T5.

    Hey Funbus,

Congrats on the new van, its a big upgrade over the Toyota..

The Multiline had the new 150kw/450nm Engine doesn't it..
Seen a few in the dealerships over the last few weeks, they look like great passenger van

    Hey Bryn23,
Yes the new van has the bigger motor. It's got heaps of grunt and makes overtaking a breeze.
I got to try out the adaptive cruise control today. It's brilliant. The cruise control sits pretty tightly on the speed limit but slows down when slower cars are in front. I had it set on maximum distance which was about 3 seconds behind the car in front. Slowing down and speeding up with the traffic was hardly noticeable. I have read that if you set the gap at a close distance, it becomes much more dramatic. When the traffic slowed from highway speeds down to crawling pace as we went through a roundabout, the adaptive cruise control just slowed down with the cars in front with no need to apply the brakes. I haven't tested it to a full stop yet. Needless to say, I'm super impressed.
The only idiosyncrasy that I found with it was that a couple of times when cars pulled off the highway into the turning lane, then braked to turn, the van braked hard with them even though they were in a totally different lane and I had to push on the accelerator to get past them before the cruise control went back to normal.
