    New Multivan Seats

    Gday
Just went to a dealer to check out the new multi, but they only had a caravelle to look at. However, the sales rep said the the 3rd row of seats in the new multi are no longer removable. The March 2010 info downloaded from the web says "Third row - 3 seater bench, removable and reclining. Mounted on rails to allow longitudinal adjustment". Can anyone confirm if the dealer is right or wrong?

Being able to remove all the rear seats was a really good feature and if it is not possible with the new model, a 2nd hand old model may be the go for me.

    Thanks.

    No.

However, given that the person in question is a 'car dealer' then the odds are pretty high that he/she/it is indeed wrong.

i guess it is not uncommon for a dealer to get it wrong! It's annoying when you know more about the car than the dealer!!

Pretty sure that he is wrong. As defence of my position- there are few changes from the old to new other than the DSG option, engine specs and front end style and dash/steering wheel...

    I'm with jetta2small.
I love Volkswagen but they're sales staff are the most useless I've ever come across and I won't name names.... They know practically nothing about the vehicles which is real turn off. I hate walking in there knowing more than the sales person. Not sure why they don't pour over the vehicles and get to know them, it's only in their interest to come across as someone with knowledge about the product they are trying to sell and they'd probably sell the vehicle with very little effort.
I've heard of so many stories of people walking out and buying something from the dealer across the road because they had a few cars in mind but got turned off by the lack of "care" from the sales staff at VW.
    It's a real shame.

You have to bear in mind that when you are in the process of purchasing a new vehicle you have been researching the bejesus out of one or two cars, the sales staff usually have to know a bit about all vehicles so it is any wonder that we do know more than them. This is nothing new, I used to use a Holden Fleet Salesman that had no problem telling me not to ask him any questions about the cars as I would know more than him. You have to remember that they are usually not passionate about cars, they just sell them. I know that I'm not passionate about my work but I'm passionate about pay day.
